@marshallk Can you say a bit more about ‘relate to the variability’? Overall, I’d hope more countries score higher on the Global Freedoms measure than they do now, and/or that they’re moving toward higher scores. The US (current home) scores 83: would be nice if we had more a Benelux 95+…

@marshallk I think that accepting a diversity of opinions is much less likely in strongly dogmatic cultures.

@marshallk Power is always in play in any group – the more interesting question is its distribution — for this thread, power is what makes it possible for somebody to decide what’s orthodox, and what’s not.
